Since its establishment, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has made many achievements, becoming one of the best utilities in the world, providing world-class services to over 880,000 customers in Dubai, in line with its vision to become a globally leading sustainable innovative cooperation.
DEWA develops major clean and renewable energy projects in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 to make Dubai a global hub for clean energy and green economy, and provide 75% of Dubai's total power output from clean energy sources by 2050.
DEWA’s achievements and successes have contributed to the UAE’s global competitiveness. The UAE, represented by DEWA, has been ranked first in the world for Getting Electricity, as per the World Bank's Doing Business Report 2018.
