MAJOR PRIVATE SECTOR COMPANIES EMBRACE EMIRATISATION AND LOOK TO HIRE TOP TALENT AT RU’YA - CAREERS UAE REDEFINED 2021

Dubai, 16th November, 2021: Ru’ya - Careers UAE Redefined, the UAE’s leading recruitment and training exhibition for Emirati youth, which runs at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) until Wednesday 17th November, is proving to be a magnet for a highly-motivated engaged UAE Nationals eager to join the workforce.

The show is leveraging the recent announcement by the UAE Government of a AED 24 billion investment to create 75,000 jobs for UAE nationals in the private sector, as part of the ‘Projects of the 50’ - a series of developmental and economic projects that aim to accelerate the UAE’s development and transform it into a comprehensive hub in all sectors. Ru’ya - Careers UAE Redefined is giving aspiring candidates face time with more than 80 leading organisations across the public and private sector, as well as exposure to an expansive range of roles across a multitude of industries, from retail and recruitment to finance and telecommunications.

This year’s expanded portfolio of private sector participants includes industry powerhouses such as Dell, Emaar, KPMG, Amazon, Halliburton, and Boston Consulting Group. Aramex, the multinational logistics and supply chain company has chosen to make its debut at Ru’ya – Careers UAE Redefined, seeking to align with the government’s drive to increase Emiratisation in the private sector.

“As we continue our Emiratisation drive and look to provide exciting opportunities to Emirati talent, Ru’ya – Careers UAE Redefined is a great platform to meet, interact with, and attract the best Emirati talent in the market. We are primarily here to offer Qeyadi – our Management Trainee Program – a six-month programme that provides on-the-job experiences in addition to training. Management trainees are assigned a graduation project and if they deliver and graduate, they have the opportunity to be considered for a full-time job,” said Belde Mavis, Global Talent Acquisition Program Manager at Aramex.

“We believe that younger Emirati talent are more open to work within the private sector and are showing curiosity and excitement about the possibilities it can hold for them. At our booth, visitors can engage with tailored offerings that provide a real-life working experience as well as a virtual game that takes them into the Aramex warehouses,” Mavis added.

In addition to the many exciting career opportunities, the show also features thought-provoking sessions with inspirational figures pushing boundaries in ‘Urbaneer’ – a series running until Wednesday on the Dare To Be Fearless stage.

During the first two days speakers from the HSBC Youth Majlis discussed a world of opportunities and possibilities at HSBC through its Global Graduate Programme, drawing on personal experiences to advise candidates on a range of topics – from the importance of hard work and discipline, to staying motivated.

The final day of Urbaneer will feature several sessions including one by Huda Al Matroushi, the first Emirati female mechanic, who aims to empower other young women to continue challenging stereotypes in pursuit of their dreams.

Also on the agenda, ‘From Earth to Mars’ – a session highlighting efforts of young Emirati nationals, was led by Emiratis behind the UAE’s Hope Probe Mission to Mars in a session held by Fight Software Manager Ibrahim Abdalla Al Midfa, and Researcher Maryam Yousuf.

Ru’ya - Careers UAE Redefined also has a range of interactive activations. Candidates access a live interview studio to interact with employment consultants; take personality tests to find a career that suits them and learn how to make a vision board.

Wednesday will see school students show their entrepreneurial side during a start-up competition ‘The Next You’ in partnership with Dubai SME, while top nationals are invited to take part in a series of real-world business challenges in the ‘Sdara Dream Team Challenge’.
