Dubai, 8 November, 2021: Ru’ya, an enhanced version of Careers UAE, the leading recruitment and training exhibition for Emirati youth, returns for its 20th edition from 15 – 17 November 2021 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), giving the country’s talent unparalleled direct access to public and private sector leaders as they begin their journey to becoming a key part of a skilled, future-ready workforce to drive a knowledge-based national economy.

The three-day event, which follows the recent announcement by the UAE Government detailing a AED 24 billion investment to get 75,000 more UAE nationals in private sector employment, will serve as a hub for inspiration, conversation and collaboration, empowering the country’s top young talent to show their creativity in a new era of growth for the national workforce across public and private sectors. It comes at a crucial time as companies reignite their recruitment drives, with jobseekers searching for new and exciting opportunities.

More than 70 public and private sector companies have confirmed their participation. Government entities such as Dubai Municipality; Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA); Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and others will be joined by major private sector players such as Mashreq Bank PSC; Al Futtaim Group; Emirates General Petroleum Corp (Emarat); Jumeirah International and Emirates NBD, offering a wide range of career pathways to jobseekers.

“As the UAE Government’s efforts to increase the number of Emirati talent in the public and private sectors continue to gather pace, Ru’ya Careers UAE Redefined serves as a tailored platform for young UAE nationals to connect with future employers directly and gain high-level insight into the jobs of the future. Ru’ya, Arabic for ‘vision’, represents our ambitions to reimagine the longstanding Careers UAE. This year’s event will be filled with thought-provoking discussions and live performances, serving as a bustling hub for empowerment and inspiration. On the flip side, it enables major businesses to demonstrate how they are contributing to national goals by supporting Emiratisation and empower youth to achieve the highest level of innovation and creativity in all fields,” said Asma Al Sharif, Ru’ya Careers UAE Redefined 2021 Show Director.

“The event’s legacy and ability to successfully link talent and businesses is evident in the level of participation from over 70 local and multinational companies annually, alongside a growing projected visitor pool of over 18,000 visitors and job-seekers. This year’s event will feature new elements and activations that equip visitors with new skills to be ready to enter, or enhance their contribution to, the workforce of the future.”

Among key exhibitors confirmed for Ru’ya Careers UAE Redefined 2021 is Dubai College of Tourism (DCT). Mariam Al Maeeni, Director Industry Nationalisation, DCT, said: “Ru’ya Careers UAE Redefined is in line with the vision laid out by our wise leadership to support and encourage our youth to get advanced career. The event meets our requirements perfectly as DCT manages Medyaf the Industry Nationalisation initiative that aims to attract and train Emiratis to work in Dubai’s tourism industry. DCT is also a full-time college offering certificate and diploma programmes in five core subject areas: tourism, hospitality, culinary arts, retail business, and events; designed for high school leavers interested in pursuing a career within Dubai’s tourism and hospitality sectors. The programmes follow the National Qualifications Framework for the UAE (QFEmirates) and are approved by the KHDA. Eligible Diploma graduates can follow a pathway to earn a UK degree in International Tourism Management, Retail Business or Event Management with Liverpool John Moores University in the UK.”

Yousuf AlMarzooqi, Emiratisation Manager, ABB Industries L.L.C, added: “ABB is committed to supporting the career development of all our employees, including our Emirati colleagues. We have a National Graduate Development Program for the UAE nationals, and they can also be part of the Global Training Programs. Our training programs focus on technical, soft skills and leadership training and will equip Emiratis with the skills required to become future leaders.”

DARE TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHIING NEW

Ru’ya Careers UAE Redefined has an enhanced visitor experience with three zones: ‘Dare to begin,’ ‘Dare to be fearless,’ and ‘Dare to shine’. Each zone includes activations and features that help jobseekers explore their personal strengths and interests and channel positive energy, in addition to tapping into expert advice on where and how they can upsell themselves.

The show also includes an interview studio where jobseekers can interact with a consultant, in addition to workshops to learn new skills and techniques for jobs of the future.

INSPIRING THE YOUTH

Inspirational figures who have been pushing boundaries will deliver a series of thought-provoking talks in a series called ‘Urbaneer’, bringing together individuals in unusual jobs to discuss their journey, career highs and lows and share advice for visitors. The ground-breaking series will feature the likes of Huda Al Matroushi, the first Emirati female mechanic, who will empower other young women to continue challenging stereotypes in pursuit of their dreams.

Aspiring entrepreneurs who have a business idea and are looking for support to make it come to life can participate in ‘The Next You’, a start-up competition organised by Dubai SME in partnership with DubaiNext. Students between the age of 16 – 22 will be asked to pitch their idea, work with DubaiNext to get support, guidance, and direction to win funding and other big prizes.
